 Here’s what we’re up to in room 10:

Language Arts
We are starting theme 2 in both grades.  5th grade’s theme is “Give it all You Got” and includes stories of determination, endurance, and perserverance.  6th grade’s theme is “What Really Happened?” This theme includes some amazing unsolved mysteries and starts off with the disappearance of famous American aviator, Amelia Earhart.

Math
We are working hard on multiplying fractions in both grades.  We’ll soon be moving on to algebra and evaluating and writing expressions. 

Science
5th grade is focusing on Earth’s Water, while 6th grade is deligently studying the structure of the Earth.

Social Studies
Social studies is very different for 5th and 6th grade.  5th grade is studying American history and currently delving into the Native Americans.  6th grade, however, is and will be studying Acient Civilizations.  Currently, 6th grade is learning about early man.
