Welcome 2010-2011 Manuel F. Hernandez students!

This week we are beginning our after-school MASTERY CLUB ! Any student who wishes to gain confidence in their math skills is invited to attend. Parents are also welcome.

Since we will be having Mini-Conferences, there will be no Mastery Club after school on Tuesday, October 12th and Wednesday, October 13th. Remember, these conferences do not replace our November meeting. I meet with parents on a first-come first-serve basis. We meet for 10 minutes. I am happy to answer any questions on the progress of your child. Their success is my number one concern.

Please remember to support your child in completing their homework. It is vital to their skill buildling. There is some confusion regarding the “literary response”. Students know they are to write a perfect paragraph each night: One topic sentence, a “reason” sentence, an “example” sentence, and a “conclusion” sentence. By responding authentically each night to literature, your child is learning to connect to what they read and think more critically about it.
