Welcome to our 4th Grade Class….This is an example of where you can write a welcome message to parents & guardians so readers know where you are coming from. Along with the message you can easily add pictures, movies and sounds.
Editing this “WordPress blog” is as easy as typing in Word. You could freely edit this information, create as many pages or sub-pages as you like and manage all of your content inside of WordPress online from any computer on the Internet. No software is required. Other pages might include a ‘homework,’ ‘current events,’ ’student showcase,’ etc, etc.
Links to websites, United Streaming videos etc can easily be added within any text body or on the side in the “Quick Links.”
Another really neat feature of WordPress is the ability to have category items which students can post (write and publish) articles to. Here is an example of a 5th grade teacher who is using the categories as a classroom newspaper. Click on one of the categories and you will see the articles with the most current one always on top. No one else can edit the page except who you give permission to. You could have a “student” logon username and password that allows the students to only edit the pages you want them to have access to!
